About the School
The School of Energy Cooperatives is a two-month blended learning intensive course, which provides Ukrainians with practical knowledge and tools for starting energy cooperatives. This will allow Ukrainian communities, like those in the EU and North America, to use the cooperation mechanism to increase their energy sustainability and create new economic growth points.
The School of Energy Cooperation is designed for entrepreneurs, proactive citizens, local government members, the public sector, and anyone who wants to put into practice the potential of energy cooperation.
“I have been already involved in cooperation and investment for some time now, and based on my experience, I see great prospects in the area of energy cooperation. The studying process includes professional theory, practical case studies of energy cooperatives, business modeling of cooperative structures, and many more. Сommunication with like-minded people motivates and inspires. ” – shares his impressions of studying at the first School, the head of the social investment department “CFG,” co-founder of the NGO “TAAS” and a number of agricultural cooperatives – Vasyl MARTYUK.
Lecturers of the School are practitioners of energy cooperation and qualified professors of the Business School of the Ukrainian Catholic University. During the two-month educational intensive course, the School participants will learn the basics of cooperation, economic, technical aspects and realities of energy, modern legislative and regulatory frameworks, and gain business planning and investment skills. At the end of the course, each participant must defend the business plan of their energy cooperative.
Participants of the School of Energy Cooperation, who present viable business plans, will have the opportunity to participate in the Energy Accelerator of Communities. This four-month program allows energy cooperative teams to go from preliminary business plans to attracting investment.
