Greencubator has presented Ukraine’s Top Cleantech Startups at COP29 in Baku thanks to support from UMAEF

The world’s largest UN climate change conference, COP29, started on 11 November in Baku, bringing together about 100,000 people from 190 countries.

On 16 November, the Ukrainian Pavilion hosted the event “Climate Innovations Made in Ukraine: Driving Global Sustainability.” This event was organized by the Ukrainian NGO Greencubator under the support of the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (formerly Western NIS Enterprise Fund).

Eight leading Ukrainian cleantech companies and green export leaders showcased their innovative technologies at the event as ambassadors of Ukraine’s climate solutions: Advansys, ECOFACTOR, E Farm Pro, Frendt, GO TO-U, MELT WATER Inc., The Good Plastic Company, and S.Lab.

Alongside presenting their innovation, they participated in a panel discussion by Greencubator Climate Innovations that Contribute to Global Sustainability, which was broadcast live (the recording of the event can be viewed at the link). The discussion also featured a representative of UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), Olga Rataj, Program Manager of the Global Cleantech Innovation Programme. The event was attended by journalists, politicians and representatives of international organizations.

These companies who participated in the event are grantees of the EBRD/EU Climate Innovation Vouchers program — one of Ukraine’s largest grant schemes for climate innovators, managed by Greencubator since 2017.

“Greencubator has been building a sustainable ecosystem in Ukraine for 15 years and bringing it to the global stage. By highlighting Ukrainian climate innovations at COP29, we aim to boost Ukraine’s visibility among climate-focused policymakers, venture capital, investment funds, and media, fostering new partnerships and opportunities,” says Olha Zubchyk, Project Coordinator of the Climate Innovation Vouchers program and moderator of the event “Climate Innovations Made in Ukraine: Driving Global Sustainability” at COP29.

“Issues facing small and medium-sized Ukrainian businesses require support, especially in strengthening their role in overcoming global challenges. The green economy sector is extremely important. We believe climate innovations will continue to grow in popularity in Ukraine and open new opportunities in global markets,” says Iryna Ozymok, Director of the UMAEF Local Economic Development Program.

Greencubator Board Chairman Roman Zinchenko and Climate Innovation Vouchers Project Coordinator Olga Zubchyk moderated this event. It represented climate innovations created in Ukraine, positioning the country as a leader in Eastern Europe’s green business development.
